We encourage state tobacco control programs, health care partners, and national partners to participate in the Collaborative. States are welcome to join the Collaborative (please see qualifications below). National partners are welcome to work with us by collaborating on initiatives or action agendas of shared interest. We also invite national partners to co-sponsor Collaborative events (e.g. webinars or our annual conference).

Since its inception, the Collaborative has offered members a community within which to share learnings, successes and challenges regarding their work in building sustainable change in health care systems.

Qualifications for Membership:
  • State tobacco control program, health department or foundation recognized as a lead agency with responsibility for cessation policies and programs with statewide reach, or a designated partner. (Up to four partner agencies may be included with the lead agency as Collaborative members).
  • Willingness to support the Collaborative’s mission by sharing knowledge and practices with member states.
  • Active participation in at least one Collaborative task group per year.
  • Submission of a case study on an initiative related to the mission of the Collaborative.
